Parylene is an excellent three proof material that provides better protection than silicone resin, epoxy resin and polyurethane.
In recent years, coating sensors with Parylene has become a trend. Sensors protected by Parylene coating include automotive sensors, sensors used in corrosive environments, biomedical sensors, acoustic sensors, biomedical electrodes and implanted sensors. In addition to insulation protection, Parylene is mainly used as a material for protecting sensors from harsh environments.
Parylene coating is resistant to acid, alkali and organic solvents, and has excellent barrier protection against harsh environments such as water vapor and salt spray. The ultra-thin characteristics of Parylene coating will not change the appearance, size, elasticity, weight, etc. of the sensor. However, the thickness of the coating film of the sensor is generally 5-15 microns, because too thick will affect the performance of the sensor.
