Parylene Deposition Process

What is parylene?
Parylene is a transparent, colorless polyester protective material deposited through a vacuum process at room temperature. The vacuum deposition occurs at ≤10⁻⁵ torr, while the coating formation pressure is maintained at ~0.1 torr.
This coating technology, originally developed under U.S. patent in the early 1960s, achieves controllable thickness ranging from 1 to 100 microns. It was first implemented in military applications including:
 Microelectronic components, Printed circuit boards (MIL-I-46058C, 1972), Aerospace systems, Underwater launch systems
